The Drew Manor Opening Gala, was an event to remember.

For the official launch of Drew Manor, the Drew family wanted something different, something that left you with a feeling where you woke up the next morning and you weren’t sure what it was. A true, one of a kind experience.

This is where Peter Minshall came in, envisioning KOBOBLANCO, a specially commissioned performance piece by Minshall and The Callaloo Company. Pairing, the families vision for the gala showing the versatility of the event space, with specially curated performances. Different experiences within the venue were created through each space having it’s own unique feel, décor, cocktail, gastronomical experience and performance.

The stars of the evening were The Koboblancos, lead by Duchess of Kobo and Mistress of Ceremonies, Cecilia Salazar. Brining her own flair to the performance, Cecila directed guests between the spaces by drawing their attention to different performances throughout the evening.

Beginning with a parade led by Traditional “Baby Doll” Giant Puppets, Pierrots, and the masked Wedding Party accompanied by Malick Tassa. The processional was to showcase the property grounds, and it’s endless possibilities. 

For the poolside performance, Mungal Patasar & Pantar sat on a bed of Anthuriums overlooking the crowd from across the pool. In the Jazz Lounge, Mavis John accompanied by Ming Low Chew Tung on the Baby Grand Piano, and The Koboblancos stole the show with their electrifying performance. Ending the evening with an enchanting performance by Pamberi Steel Orchestra under the stars.
